Come “See” Harvey at Lake Center Christian High School

Lake Center Christian High School (LCCHS) Drama Department will present Harvey, by Mary Chase on November 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. in the Kaufman Center, 12895 Kaufman Avenue in Hartville.

Mary Chase received the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1945 for this light-hearted comedy which centers on good-natured Elwood P. Dowd who has a rather peculiar best friend, a 6-foot tall invisible rabbit named Harvey. Harvey and Elwood go everywhere and meet everyone together, much to the distress of his social-climbing sister, Veta, and her daughter, Myrtle Mae. While trying to have Elwood committed at a local sanitarium, Veta is the victim of a mad-capped mix-up and we see how mild mannered Elwood’s delusion begins to have a strange effect on those around him.
